Hesitation

In case you haven’t noticed, I haven’t written anything in many years, indeed I’m not even sure if anyone is even going to read this. On and off I’ve been contemplating a return to writing but I’ve always hesitated and put it off. Here I am again doing the same, but this time I’m putting my thoughts into writing, so it’s a start at least.

Some questions I keep asking myself, who is going to read what I write? Do I have anything worth contributing? What will I write about? Does anyone even care? And of course one big quandary I have: how to inform people that I’ve written anything?

Back in the day I, like many others, used Twitter to post any articles that I may take time to write. But I left that long ago once it became a platform for hate and right wing propaganda.

What are people using now? Now there are a number of alternatives to Twitter, but which one to choose? All of them? How do you build up a following again? It’s also obvious that I’ve been out of it for so long that I actually don’t know how these work anymore, so I need to take time to learn it all again, to find people, to connect, to explore the topics we used to and have discussions.

So that’s where I need to start. I will try Mastodon and also perhaps LinkedIn, since that’s also something that I rarely used to post on, so I may start there too.

Let’s see how it goes.
